I have had a passion in food related area since I was a child, my notion that I can actually study food in school was in class six in primary school where I was introduced to Home science and instantly I knew what I wanted to do in future. It was not clear at the beginning but as time went by I ended up taking Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics as a career. This was majorly influenced by my professional lecturers whom I met in undergraduate. With this understanding, I appreciate the role a teacher or instructor plays in the career choice of a young person. I made a decision when I ended up being a trainer to always be the best for my student, this has been my guiding principle as I lead this department. I have always striven to have a faculty that puts the student first in matters academic, a faculty that is professional in its undertaking and dealings. A follow up on our graduates proves this fact that we have always had them in mind, and that they are the most important people.
