Welcome to the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Our school combines the previously separate schools of Nursing and Health Sciences to offer a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in four departments: Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics; Medical Laboratory Sciences; Nursing; and Public Health. We provide diploma, bachelor’s, and master’s programs.
The Department of Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics offers diploma and bachelor’s degree programs. The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences offers a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science. The Department of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) with a specialization in Community Health Nursing. The Department of Public Health offers a diploma in Environmental Health, a bachelor’s degree in Public Health, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) with options in Generalist and Health Promotion, or Epidemiology and Disease Control. We also offer a Master of Global Health degree.
Our graduates have a strong reputation for professional excellence with employers locally, regionally, and globally. Our training is rooted in the Christian philosophy of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, emphasizing holistic health and wellness encompassing physical, mental, social, and spiritual aspects. Our faculty focus on imparting knowledge, fostering a positive attitude, and developing skills while upholding integrity. Health research is an integral part of our training, and we emphasize compassionate nursing care, the relationship between nutrition and health, and accurate medical diagnosis.
We have collaborations with national hospitals for student training, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, we swiftly transitioned to online teaching without major challenges. Parents are welcome to visit our school and receive guidance on enrolling their children in our programs.
