In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and community service, Chair the Love, in collaboration with the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton and the County Government of Uasin Gishu County, distributed 20 wheelchairs to persons with disabilities in Eldoret. The initiative aimed to restore dignity, improve mobility, and enhance the quality of life of beneficiaries from various parts of the county.
The event was attended by Augie Byllott, one of the Directors of Chair the Love, and H.E. Hon. Evans Kapkea, the Deputy Governor of Uasin Gishu County, who reaffirmed their commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society through strategic partnerships and humanitarian initiatives.
Representing the Vice Chancellor of UEAB, Prof. Catherine Amimo participated in the distribution exercise and conveyed greetings from the Vice Chancellor while reaffirming the university’s commitment to community engagement, service, and the transformation of lives through education and outreach programs.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Amimo emphasized UEAB’s dedication to academic excellence, Christian values, and service to humanity. She noted that partnerships between Chair the Love, the Uasin Gishu County Government, and UEAB demonstrate the power of collaboration in addressing community challenges and bringing hope to those in need.
