Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  1. Master of Science in Clinical Medicine degree from an accredited university.
  2. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or related field such as Medicine with at least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0/4.0 or Second-Class Upper Division from an accredited/recognized university.
  3. Must have attained at least a C+ in KCSE or its equivalent qualification.
  4. Must have a valid license from Clinical Officers Council (COC) of Kenya.
  5. Membership in professional bodies relevant to Clinical Medicine or healthcare education will be an added advantage.
  6. At least three years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Tutorial/Research Fellow.
  7. Proof of registration for a PhD degree in the relevant field/area of study will be an added advantage.
  8. An applicant with clinical experience in a healthcare setting, possibly with hands-on patient care will have an added advantage.
  9. Proficient in the use of computers especially SPSS or other statistical software, School Management System, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, E-Learning and Internet.
  10. Proficiency in modern teaching methods, including the use of technology and simulation tools in clinical education.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. To teach undergraduate and diploma courses within the department and in other programs which may have relevant course requests.
  2. Developing teaching materials for blended learning.
  3. Promoting the mission of the department and the University.
  4. Participate in the preparation of departmental plans and documents.
  5. Provide professional and practical training to the students.
  6. Organize and supervise educational activities, including clinical placement and trips for students.
  7. Attend and participate in seminars, workshops and conferences in the relevant and other fields.
  8. Participate in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curricular in the department.
  9. Participate in the department meetings and other departmental/school activities.
  10. Be an Academic Advisor to students by providing mentorship and career guidance, while maintaining high ethical values.
  11. Set, process, moderate, administer and mark examinations and other assignments and submit semester grades as stipulated by the university.
  12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or delegated by the University administration.

Job Summary: The University seeks a dynamic and experienced UEAB Research Farm Laboratory Assistant to oversee the hands-on practical training of students taking Agriculture and related courses at the university’s Research farm.

Duties and Responsibilities

These include but not limited to:

  1. Preparing laboratory practicals for each course offered in each semester in consultation with the course lecturer,
  2. Organizing timetable to accommodate all the different groups as per the offered courses for each semester so that the process is done without collision of classes and practicals,
  3. Organizing and preparing field plots for research use by students in accordance with acceptable research methodologies, assisting students in report writing and assigning and marking and submission of students’ field assignments,
  4. Administering CATS and Final laboratory exams and their submissions to the respective lecturers in time,
  5. Organizing crop establishment, crop agronomy, harvesting and storage and livestock management and production, supervising and assessment of students from other institutions coming for industrial attachment and any other duty assigned by the HOD-Agriculture Department.

The successful candidate will be expected to work harmoniously with the lecturers and other stakeholders to ensures effective and efficient training for skills development of the students which will make them competitive in the world of work after graduating from UEAB.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Development and Alumni Affairs shall:

  1. Develop and implement programs pertaining to areas of planned giving, endowment funds, foundations and donor funds in accordance with the missions, aims and objectives as well as the strategic plan of the University.
  2. Monitor and coordinate the infrastructural development of the University based on the Master Plan, including coordination of site visits, as well as receiving progress reports on ongoing construction projects.
  3. Develop systems that will facilitate the preparation and submission of grant proposals from both academic and non-academic staff.
  4. Mobilize, build and strengthen the network of individuals, alumni, corporations and organizations that give to the development of UEAB.
  5. Act as liaison officer between funding sources and the University and maintain personal contacts with representatives for funding sources.
  6. Work as a steward of foundations and corporations that have provided support for institution projects.
  7. Act as liaison officer between Government and the University on matters affecting the UEAB community.
  8. Ensure the production of materials and activities intended for fund raising.
  9. Supervise the development and alumni affairs support staff as well volunteers in implementation of development and alumni affairs programs.
  10. Liaise with the Administration on the utilization of donated funds, timely completion of projects, accurate documentation and prompt reporting as per agreements with donors.
  11. Process the delivery of deferred and presented gifts for the use and benefit of UEAB.
  12. Liaise with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Academics and the Deputy Vice-ChancellorFinance and Administration on the equipment and facility needs and developing funding requests to relevant donors.
  13. Conduct research and establish collaborations with embassies and missions that will help in development of funding requests from various departments of the University including funding for needy and worthy students.
  14. Initiate development projects that link the University to the community and industry.

  4. Have basic first aid training.
  5. Have the accuracy in measurements, data recording, and observation is critical.
