Following a vibrant campaign season and a decisive election, the newly elected Student Association of Baraton University (SABU) leaders joined the outgoing student government for a meaningful handover retreat in Kisumu. The gathering marked an important transition in student leadership, creating an opportunity for reflection, mentorship, and collaboration as the new administration prepares to serve the student body.
The retreat provided a platform for both incoming and outgoing leaders to engage in insightful discussions on governance, responsibility, and the shared vision for the future of Baraton University’s student community. Through open conversations and shared experiences, the outgoing leaders were able to pass on valuable lessons and guidance, ensuring continuity and stability within SABU leadership.
Gracing the occasion were the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Msafiri Jackson; the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics and Student Affairs, Prof. Kenneth Otieno; and the Dean of Students, Mr. Jacob Limo. Their presence highlighted the university administration’s continued commitment to mentoring and nurturing transformative student leadership.
Beyond the formal sessions, the retreat also strengthened bonds among student leaders, fostering unity, teamwork, and a renewed sense of purpose. It served as a reminder that effective leadership is built not only through positions of responsibility, but also through collaboration, integrity, and service to the community.
As the newly elected SABU government embarks on its journey, the Kisumu retreat stands as a symbol of continuity, vision, and the enduring spirit of leadership at Baraton University.
