BARATON, Kenya – The University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (UEAB) concluded a powerful and transformative Week of Spiritual Emphasis (WOSE) and Camp Meeting 2026, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and members of the wider community for a week of worship, fellowship, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

The event was held under the inspiring theme, “When You Meet Jesus: Encounters That Change Everything,” drawn from John 1:14, and was complemented by the theme song, “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” (SDA Hymnal No. 290). Throughout the week, participants reflected on the life-changing power of encountering Christ and the transformative impact of His presence in daily life.

The Camp Meeting was conducted by guest speaker Dr. David O. Odhiambo, whose messages challenged attendees to deepen their relationship with Christ and experience genuine spiritual transformation. Through daily sermons, worship services, and moments of prayer, participants were encouraged to strengthen their faith and commitment to God.

The Week of Spiritual Emphasis was led by Dr. Herry N. Mhando under the theme, “The Masterpiece of God’s Creation!” His presentations emphasized the value, purpose, and identity of every individual as God’s unique creation, inspiring members of the university community to embrace their God-given potential and calling.

One of the most significant highlights of the week was the baptism of 45 individuals, who publicly declared their commitment to Jesus Christ. The baptismal ceremony marked a joyous culmination of the spiritual emphasis program and served as a testimony to the impact of the week’s messages and ministry.

The week brought together the university community in a spirit of unity and devotion, providing opportunities for worship, Bible study, personal reflection, and fellowship. Participants described the experience as uplifting and transformative, with many expressing renewed commitment to their spiritual journey.
