Grand Outreach Rally Baptizes 1,200 and Unites Thousands in a Powerful Spiritual Movement
Baraton, May 31, 2025 – A spiritual wave swept across the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, as the Grand Outreach Rally gathered over 14,000 students from high schools and colleges at the university’s iconic Graduation Square. The electrifying event marked a historic moment in the institution’s outreach ministry.
This year’s keynote speaker was Prof. Msafiri M. Jackson, the Vice Chancellor of UEAB, who delivered a deeply moving sermon that captivated hearts and stirred the spirits of the vast audience. Drawing from Scripture and personal conviction, Prof. Jackson’s message emphasized transformation, purpose, and commitment to faith in action. The Chaplain of UEAB Dr. Duncan Mumbo, led the group in a solemn moment of dedication, giving vows to the 1,200 students, who had been prepared for baptism in advance, and those who gave their lives to Jesus after the sermon in response to the message. The crowd was deeply moved as these young people stood boldly to affirm their faith. A major highlight of the day was the grand baptism ceremony, where 1,200 students publicly dedicated their lives to Christ. The moment was both joyful and deeply emotional, reflecting the powerful work of the Holy Spirit throughout the week.
Special appreciation was extended to Pastor Eliazer Kogei, President of the West Rift Valley Field, for his tremendous support in the rally. He ensured the presence of more than 20 pastors who assisted in conducting the large-scale baptism, making the process smooth and spiritually enriching. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Pastor Dr. Blasious Ruguri, the President of the East-Central Africa Division (ECD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and UEAB Chancellor, for his unwavering support and his powerful reminder to the church family on the importance of doubling ECD membership. We also appreciate the invaluable support of Dr. Samuel Misian, President of the West Kenya Union Conference (WKUC) and Chair of the UEAB University Council, and Dr. Samuel Makori, President of the East Kenya Union Conference (EKUC) and Chair of the UEAB Board of Trustees. Their encouragement, leadership, and active involvement were instrumental in the outstanding success of the outreach rally.
The university community is also grateful to the UEAB Board of Trustees and the UEAB University Council for their continued support and vision for spiritual development. Special thanks go to the high school patrons, high school matrons, event attendees, and everyone who made the day memorable through their presence and contribution. We also sincerely thank the UEAB Outreach Team for their exceptional efforts in organizing this impactful event.
