Welcome to UEAB

Welcome to the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (UEAB), your gateway to wholistic Christian Education. UEAB, a private chartered Seventh-day Adventist institution of higher learning, is also a member of the worldwide family of Adventist education institutions. The main campus is located at Baraton, Nandi County, Rift Valley Province-approximately 50 kilometers from Eldoret or 35 kilometres from Eldoret International Airport.
A Diverse Community

Though a private university, UEAB admission is not limited to Adventist applicants. Subject to availability of space, any student meeting the academic and character requirements of the university, and expresses willingness to co-operate with the university policies, and is comfortable with its religious, social and cultural atmosphere may be admitted.
Welcoming New Students

UEAB is accustomed to properly orienting new students. The candlelighting ceremony takes place at the start of every student's life at the University. Consequently, all new students are required to attend the orientation exercise. It is also the responsibility of each student to make sure that this requirement is met
A Christian Atmosphere

UEAB, as a Seventh-day Adventist christian institution of higher learning, has a church that was initiated and targets provision of wholesome spiritual nourishment to its students and community through its varied programs and activities. Worship, therefore, is an intergral part of student life. Every student is expected to contribute to and maintain such an atmosphere.
Food and Catering Services

The University operates food and catering services to its students and community. This includes the University Cafeteria, the Snackette and the UEAB Community Center. A vegetarian diet is provided in the boarding plan which allows for the normal three meals per day while the semester is in session.
Health Services

Baraton Jeremic is the University's Medical Center which provides basic health care to students and the UEAB community. It is operated under a resident doctor, clinical officer and nurses. Students entering the University for the first time will be required to take medical examination by the doctor chosen by the University. The cost of this medical examination will be charged to the student’s account.
The University Library

The UEAB Library provides a platform for research and reading to both students and the University community. A library handbook exists to the effect of making avalilable information on materials, books, periodicals and other publications available for use.
Recreational Activities

Facilities for ball games are available on campus. There is also ample space on the campus for exercise, jogging, or walking. Each student is encouraged to adopt a regular programme of recreation and exercise.Some of the non-curricular activities available to the student are: departmental academic clubs, special interest and hobby-clubs. Such clubs and groups afford additional opportunity to develop leadership, spiritual vigour, physical health, mental acuity, and social aptness.
