The Ellen G. White Research center was opened on May 19, 2001 to serve the East and Central Africa region of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) world church.
The EGWRC collects and preserves the writings, pictures, and other relevant materials on the life, work and ministry of Ellen G. White. The collection also includes resources relevant to the theology, history and heritage of SDA church. All the materials which are found in various formats are available for research including both supportive and critical materials.
Whether you are a stake holder (university faculty, staff, student, church member) or a visitor, we look forward to provide you with the most competent assistance in the use of the materials in a user-friendly and comfortable atmosphere. At the same time, we serve the wide community around us by organizing special SDA heritage-oriented/Spirit of Prophecy Sabbath programs with inspiring information on the life and ministry of SDA pioneers in ways that are applicable to the contemporary Adventists in the region.
If you are interested in having seminars or workshops on selected topics related to SDA heritage, Ellen G. White’s writings, their interpretation (hermeneutics) and application in your church, camp-meeting or a conference, we would love to assist and provide, as much as possible, answers to your questions on these issues.
To be a center reaching out to all Adventists within the East-central Africa region with the inspired messages of Ellen G. White leading them to study and understand the Bible in preparation for the second coming of Jesus.
Our mission is to preserve and present the heritage of the Adventist church, and the writings of Ellen G. White as the inspired word of God leading members to the study of the Bible for a successful Christian life and enthused to get the world ready for the second coming of Jesus.
