THE DEPARTMENT OF FOODS, NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
Using our God given faculties is what makes life better every day, this includes use of the three key pillars of Adventist education: mental, physical and spiritual. The department of Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics focuses on the wholistic education where students are introduced to using their hands and mental capabilities to get solutions to our everyday life. To achieve this we offer bachelors, diplomas and certificate programs which include:
- Bachelor of Science in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics
- Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Textile Design
- Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Tourism Management
- Diploma in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics
- Diploma in Fashion and Textile Design
- Certificate in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics
The above programs offered in the department of Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics evolved from the initial of Home economics degree which later changed to Bachelor of science in Family and Consumer sciences. The commission of University Education (CUE) regulates all the programs in the department together with Kenya Nutritionist and Dietitians Institute (KNDI) for the Nutrition and Dietetics programs. The programs are designed to enable students not only to be employed but also be employers and help in achieving the government’s big four agenda and vision 2030 and also prepare an individual to focus on this life and the life hereafter.
